At MAYDUNA, we place the utmost importance on safety, comfort, and stylish designs. Over the years, we have carefully sought out the best materials for piercing jewelry—always with a focus on biocompatibility and the highest standards.

That is why we use exclusively body-friendly, hypoallergenic materials that exceed Austrian legal requirements. Our range includes, among other things, implant-grade titanium and solid 14- and 18-karat gold.

All jewelry pieces from our partner companies feature a high-polish finish and are crafted with either internal threading or no threading at all. This ensures that the jewelry not only looks great but also stays securely in place. Should a manufacturing defect occur—such as discoloration or a loose stone—our quality guarantee applies. In such cases, we promptly arrange for a repair or replacement.

As a general rule, piercing prices do not include the jewelry itself. Why? It’s simple: your style is unique—and your piercing should reflect that. You can choose from a wide range of high-quality initial jewelry, from affordable titanium options to luxurious gold pieces featuring Swarovski crystals, fine gemstones, or even genuine diamonds.

The final cost therefore depends on the jewelry you choose. You can view our extensive selection in person during an on-site consultation. Our team will be happy to help you find the perfect combination of style and functionality.

Our services start at €29. Titanium jewelry is also available starting at €29. With every fresh piercing, you receive a free goodie bag containing, among other things, sterile saline solution for cleaning.

If you get the same piercing done in duplicate during a single session (e.g., both nipples or a double helix), the price for the second piercing is reduced to just €39—excluding dermal anchors and earlobe piercings.

If you are 18 or older, we only need an official photo ID (national ID card, driver’s license, e-card, or passport) to fulfill your piercing request.
If you are under 18 years of age, written and signed consent from the person responsible for your care and upbringing is also required. The identity of the legal guardian must be verified by providing a copy of a photo ID. If this is insufficient to establish legal guardianship (e.g., due to differing surnames or addresses on the ID), we also require proof of custody to confirm that the person is indeed a legal guardian.
The written consent form must specify exactly which piercing is to be performed; the form must also include your full name and date of birth, the full name and date of birth of the legal guardian, their signature, and a copy of their photo ID.

The minimum age for ear piercings in children is seven years. The presence of at least one legal guardian is mandatory. Both the child and the legal guardian must be able to provide proof of identity.

We hear this question in the studio almost every day—and rightly so, as it is an important part of the decision-making process. The honest answer is: only a tiny bit. Our trained piercers work quickly and precisely, ensuring you experience as little discomfort as possible. Most clients are surprised by how mild the procedure actually is—often far less painful than they had feared.

In fact, the nervousness beforehand is usually more intense than the piercing itself. In the vast majority of cases, it is merely a brief moment that feels like a slight pinch—and then it’s all over.

After the piercing procedure, you may experience a slight burning sensation or increased sensitivity in the area for a short time. This is completely normal and generally no cause for concern—you can go about your day as usual afterwards.

When you visit MAYDUNA, you will receive a warm welcome from our team. During a detailed consultation, we help you find the perfect jewelry for your piercing. Upon request, our experts will explain everything regarding gold alloys, gemstone cuts, anatomical considerations, and all other aspects relevant to the specific piercing you desire.

Once you have selected your piece of jewelry, we begin the professional sterilization process.* At the same time, we conduct a comprehensive consultation with you. During this session, you will receive all the important information regarding potential risks, aftercare, our ongoing aftercare service, and future jewelry options once the healing phase is complete.

Once all questions have been answered, you will fill out a consent form—please don’t forget to bring a valid photo ID with you for this.

Next, we escort you to one of our private treatment rooms, where you and your well-being are the top priority. The area to be pierced is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, the piercing site is carefully marked, and you have the opportunity to check the placement. Once you are satisfied with the position, the actual piercing is performed and the jewelry is inserted.

To wrap up, we will explain the key points regarding aftercare once more and let you know how you can reach us at any time with questions or concerns.

Congratulations – your new piercing is perfect!

We use STATIM and ENBIO rapid sterilizers to safely process each piece of jewelry individually. This method is exceptionally fast and highly reliable, and is widely used in the medical field—such as in dentistry. If you wish, we would be happy to show you our sterilization processes and the comprehensive documentation on-site.

At MAYDUNA, the choice is yours: you can drop by spontaneously without an appointment or secure a fixed appointment in advance using our online booking tool.

Please note that our services and high-quality jewelry are in high demand—especially on weekends and around public holidays. On such days, you may experience longer wait times without an appointment.

That’s why we recommend booking an appointment online or by phone in advance, so you can be scheduled in securely and without stress.

Are you worried about your piercing—is it red, swollen, or looking unusual? Do you want to change the jewelry but can’t manage it on your own? Or has the jewelry been out for a while, and you’re unsure if the piercing channel has already closed up?

Then don’t hesitate – contact us as soon as possible! Our experienced team is here to provide expert assistance with any questions regarding your piercing.

Please note: Well-intentioned advice from friends, relatives, or even medical professionals is often unhelpful—especially if they lack experience in professional piercing. With us, you receive expert support based on solid professional knowledge and daily practical experience.

We strongly recommend against getting a new piercing during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. During this sensitive phase, your body is already dealing with numerous hormonal and physical changes—the immune system functions differently, and healing processes are less predictable.

A fresh piercing is essentially a minor wound that can place an additional strain on you—and potentially on your child as well. To avoid unnecessary risks, we believe the safest approach is to wait until you have completely finished breastfeeding before getting a new piercing.

Your body is doing something amazing right now—give it the time to focus entirely on this task.

We understand that you may already own jewelry you would like to use. However, at MAYDUNA, your safety is our top priority—which is why we adhere to strict standards regarding hygiene, material quality, and fit.

For new piercings, we use exclusively jewelry available directly at our studio. This allows us to ensure it meets the highest standards of biocompatibility, sterility, and craftsmanship.

If your piercing is already fully healed, we would be happy to check whether jewelry you have brought with you can be inserted. The requirements are that it is made of high-quality titanium or at least 14-karat gold, features internal threading, is highly polished, and fits your anatomy perfectly (gauge, length, and diameter).

Not sure if your jewelry is suitable? Just bring it along—our team will be happy to take a look at it on-site.

Please note: For hygiene reasons, jewelry that has not been inspected, sterilized, and appropriately documented by our qualified staff may not be used for piercing.

We hear this question often—and the answer is: yes and no. Unfortunately, pure silver is not suitable for piercings. The reason is that silver reacts with bodily fluids and begins to oxidize. This not only leads to unsightly discoloration of the jewelry itself but can also permanently stain the surrounding skin dark—a risk we at MAYDUNA are not willing to take.

As we offer exclusively safe, body-friendly piercing jewelry designed for long-term wear, we do not stock silver.

But don’t worry—for those who prefer a cool, silvery look, we have an elegant alternative: white gold. White gold looks very similar to real silver but is of significantly higher quality; it does not oxidize and is ideally suited for long-term wear in the body.

From understated elegance to sparkling designs, our range of high-quality white gold jewelry offers stylish options for those who desire the look of silver but expect the highest standards of quality and skin compatibility.

For hygiene reasons and in accordance with health department regulations, body jewelry cannot be exchanged or returned. Piercing jewelry is classified as a particularly sensitive product because it comes into direct contact with the body; consequently, transferring it to another person after purchase would be neither safe nor permitted.

To ensure the perfect fit, our experienced piercers are happy to advise you. We help you select the right gauge, length, and diameter for your jewelry—before you even make the purchase.

That’s how we ensure together that you’ll enjoy your new piece of jewelry for a long time—completely risk-free.

At MAYDUNA, you will find high-quality piercing jewelry that suits you perfectly. We focus on lifelong quality, safety, and outstanding design from leading global brands.

We are proud to offer you an exquisite selection from renowned manufacturers known for their first-class craftsmanship and biocompatible materials.

Congratulations on your new piercing!

It is now your responsibility to care for your piercing properly to ensure optimal healing.

  1. Wash your hands: Clean your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing.
  2. Using the care spray: Spray the care spray we recommend onto your piercing and let it sit for at least one minute. Do not move the jewelry! Capillary action allows the solution to penetrate the piercing channel on its own. Moving the jewelry can irritate the wound channel and introduce bacteria or dirt into the wound.
  3. Removing deposits: If crusts have formed around the jewelry, soften them with warm water and then carefully remove them using a cotton swab or a paper towel (do not use your fingernails!).
  4. Drying the piercing: Pat your piercing dry with a clean paper towel.
  5. Jewelry adjustment for certain piercings: For piercings such as those in the ear cartilage, lip, or tongue, it is important to have a shorter bar inserted once the swelling has subsided. A bar that is too long can irritate the piercing channel, cause the jewelry to shift, and significantly delay healing.

Important:
The aftercare steps described above need only be performed twice a day. Under no circumstances should you remove the jewelry yourself during the healing period!

If you experience severe pain, significant swelling, small blisters, or issues with the length of the jewelry, please contact us first. Do not remove the jewelry yourself! Doing so could cause wound secretions or foreign bodies to become encapsulated within the piercing channel, potentially leading to further serious complications.
Please attend your scheduled follow-up appointment so we can check the healing process and adjust the jewelry if necessary.

After getting a piercing, various completely normal reactions may occur. These include mild swelling—which can be alleviated by cooling the area—as well as slight bleeding. Many people experience a mild burning sensation, numbness, or slight pain at the piercing site. It is also perfectly normal for wound fluid to ooze from the area; this is not pus, but rather a natural part of the healing process. Fluctuations in the healing progress are also common—the piercing may feel better on some days and worse on others. All of these are natural bodily reactions.

If you have a piercing in the ear or ear cartilage area, special care is required. Ein particularly Important point: Never sleep on your freshly pierced body! Any pressure can severely impair healing, granulation tissue formation. tissue ...or even cause scarring. In some cases, constant pressure can also alter the angle of the piercing—this can lead to chronic pain and, in the worst-case scenario, require the piercing to be removed.

For piercings in the oral cavity, such as tongue or lip piercings, oral hygiene is especially important. Brush your teeth thoroughly at least twice a day and use an antibacterial mouthwash. After eating, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water to remove food particles. For the first 24 hours after the piercing… Piercing You should give up smoking entirely—and even afterwards, it is advisable to reduce tobacco consumption as much as possible. You should also avoid highly acidic foods and beverages, such as tomatoes or fruit juices. Carbonated drinks, as well as very hot or spicy foods, can also negatively affect the healing process and should be avoided.

During the initial During the healing phase—which lasts at least four weeks—you should avoid visiting swimming pools, saunas, and tanning salons. After showering, it is important to rinse your piercing with clean water and then dry it thoroughly. Avoid any contact with makeup, creams, or hair dyes, as these substances can irritate the wound. Refrain from touching the piercing unnecessarily; it needs rest to heal optimally. Pressure and friction—especially with ear and nose piercings—must be strictly avoided. Do not use disinfectants or ointments; instead, adhere strictly to these care instructions and the advice provided by our team. Furthermore, you should avoid contact with other people’s bodily fluids during the healing phase. Support your body by getting enough sleep and maintaining a balanced diet; this strengthens your immune system and naturally promotes the healing of your piercing.

General

Once the initial swelling of your new piercing has gone down, the jewelry should be switched to a shorter or smaller piece. This is typically done four to eight weeks after your piercing appointment.

Please therefore also plan to see us again for your check-up appointment.

Why you should downsize:

  • To accommodate potential swelling, the initial post holding your jewelry is slightly longer. After a maximum of 12 weeks, the swelling should have subsided enough to allow for “downsizing”—switching to a smaller size.
  • If you sleep on your fresh piercing—especially during the initial healing period—there is a risk that the angle of the piercing channel will shift due to the pressure exerted on the jewelry.
This can significantly prolong the healing process or prevent the piercing from healing properly altogether. Furthermore, the shifted angle might make it impossible for you to wear other pieces of jewelry later on. In such cases, there is little that can be done, and it is advisable to remove the piercing and have it re-done. Don’t let it get to that point; contact us in good time for a downsize. …your jewelry fits snugly and comfortably against your skin. This virtually eliminates the risk of migration. Downsizing is crucial for happy, healthy piercings!

The advantages of downsizing:

  • reduces the risk of the jewelry getting caught, pulled, or bumped
  • reduces the risk of irritation and migration
  • reduces the risk of the piercing’s angle changing
  • reduces the risk of damage to teeth and gums associated with oral piercings
  • can reduce residual or recurring swelling

That depends on many factors! Some piercings only need to be downsized once, and then they fit perfectly! Others require downsizing multiple times. This can happen because the piercing is prone to significant swelling that takes time to subside. Some clients are also more prone to swelling than others. Don’t forget: your piercing is as unique as you are.

Downsizing is an important step toward enjoying healthy, attractive piercings for a lifetime! If you think your piercing needs to be shortened, or if you aren’t sure, contact us directly! We’re happy to help.
